There was, way back in the mists of... 2007... a recurrent meme among several comics art blogs. Reclaiming characters from their owners, I guess it could be broadly described as... people were reimagining abused characters (chiefly Supergirl) as artistic call-and-response in various places, chiefly LiveJournal. In the aftermath of that, I did a similar thing on old messageboard The Engine, called REMAKE/REMODEL. They were embraced as technical exercises, bits of fun, ways to get the brain moving. I think most people's favourite was the dear late Mike Wieringo's wondrous retro-aristo Buck Rogers...

The Domino Lady is really University of California, Berkeley-educated socialite Ellen Patrick. When her father, District Attorney Owen Patrick, is murdered she puts on a domino mask and a backless white dress to avenge him.

It wasn’t long before I realized Scholz wrote pulp stories not only under his own byline, but (as was usual for many pulp writers) also under several pseudonyms. Some issues of Sport Story carried a novella under Scholz own name and two short stories under his different pseudonyms.
While boxing, track, football, baseball, and basketball, made up the background for the majority of the stories in the sports pulps, every sport imaginable also had its day in the sports pulps at one time or another.
